Dermott Lennon

Dermott Lennon (born June 12, 1969) is an award winning Show jumper, based in Northern Ireland. He grew up on his parents’ farm together with five brothers and one sister.

Dermott Lennon soon became a successful rider on the national circuit, but it was only in 1999 when he had horses like Garronturton Lady and Liscalgot that Dermott competed on his first International shows. Liscalgot then only 8 years old turned out to become Dermott Lennon’s most successful horse until this day. With her, Dermott won a Gold medal with the Irish team at the European Championship in Arnhem, Holland in 2001 and and Individual Gold medal at the World Championship in Jerez, Spain in 2002.

Dermott Lennon was part of the Irish team that won their first European Championship title at the 2001 European Show Jumping Championships in Aachen. Dermott Lennon followed up by winning the Individual gold medal in the 2002 Show Jumping World Championships riding Liscalgot. This was Irelands first ever win at the World Championships.
